The Cobra Clubs in Australia are built upon a shared enthusiasm for the legendary AC Cobra created by Carroll Shelby. Do you dream of having a replica of your own SC 427 Cobra or 427 Competition Cobra? Or just a nice street 427 Cobra replica. Or maybe you prefer the classic english lines of the early slabside 289 AC Cobra's.
These days the clubs are not just focussed on Cobra replicas, but also to owners and enthusiasts of the GT40(Ford GT) & Daytona Coupe replicas(kit cars).
All clubs have a strong active membership and cater to a wide variety of interests from motorsport(racing), cruises, car shows, meetings & social events, all with a family friendly atmosphere. It's rare that a weekend goes by where there isn't some sort of activity planned by these clubs.
The NSW Cobra Club, also hold the Cobra Nationals once a year on the NSW Labour Day long weekend. This event is held at Wakefield Park Raceway, Goulburn. 100's of vehicles compete, in a Show & Shine, Sprints, Go-To-Whoa, Hill Climb & 1/8th Mile Drags. There is also an informal practice day on the Friday. Combined with social dinners each night, this is a must attend weekend for all Cobra, GT40 & Daytona Coupe enthusiasts.
Through club membership, you will find a wealth of information on both building, maintaining and improving all aspects of these vehicles.
Ownership of a vehicle is not mandatory and many members actually join or attend before purchasing. Pre-purchase advice from members is often invaluable in finding the best vehicle or kit for your needs & budget.
All the these clubs welcome visitors, so make sure you pop along to one of the meetings and make yourself known to the committee.
